The book I read was The Junction Boys. The story was written by Jim Dent. The Junction Boys is a true story about a legendary
football coach. The legend coach is Paul "Bear" Bryant. Bryant was a very good football coach, but he was a very
hard and mean coach. Texas A&M was having some trouble with its football team winning games. Texas A&M was searching
for themselves a coach, but not just any coach they wanted someone to make their team champions. Paul starts out by taking
his team to a 10 day training camp. When he starts out this training camp he has over 100 players that want to play for him.
What these players do not realize is what they are going to have to go through over the next 10 days to make it on the team.
The men work their ways through the camp, some of them make it and some of them quit very quickly. By the end of the ten days
Paul "Bear" Bryant has his aggie football team set. Bryant coached this team in 1954. This was not one of the greatest
teams "Bear" ever had, but he said for himself that it was definitely his favorite. The team went 1-9 that season,
but all of the things they went through meant more to Bryant then the record.
I would recommend this book to almost anyone. This is a great book with a really good meaning. If you do not work for
things in life it is going to be very hard to achieve your dreams. The only people that I would not recommend this book to
is people that really hate sports and do not understand what athletes go through to exceed in their dreams and hopes of becomming
the best.
